What laser level do you have, which ones do you recommend. the one on trade tiler is a bit expesive, i found a similar one called the Stanley CLL, Cross Line Laser Level with Pole Support

Anyone know it or have used it

Let me know what is the best out there

The Most Accurate Level There Is

If you learn a few facts about water levels you'll find them far more advantageous and accurate than even a Builders Level, Transit, Laser Level, or spirit level. Not to mention it is a lot faster to setup and use and with only one person.

Note: There's only one tube. The dashed line illustrates putting the tube in a second location.

10m (32' 9"). Long flexible hose with graduated sight tubes and vent caps.

The least expensive method of determining the gradient of virtually anything is with the use of water. Water seeks a level automatically.

The only way to set levels round blind corners in one go

10 metre long hose 2 graduated end chambers with stoppers

They might be old fashioned but they can still do things lasers can't

I only posted a few words as I KNEW Dave would come back with the complete history and a "How to" description saving me valuable typing time lol

Far to complecated to read, ill rather spend the money and get a decent laser level, never let me down in the past.

I think ill need someone to teach me that method

DH!!! Now see what youv'e done lol

Have a look on tradetiler they sell them on there, its a really easy system to use so don't worry about the technical side as to be honest there is no technical side really. Jump on and have a look.

It hurts my head reading about it, lasers, turn on, point, adjust, easy peasy

just need advice on a decent one

bit expensive for what i was looking for, is it a 360 degree laser line.

Have you heard of the stanley cll laser, was gonna buy that

i have been looking at tools etc and a laser level was on the list but having worked with these tilers from merseyside this week, i dont know wheter they are worth it now.

we have been flying round the room with stabila levels and all the lines where spot on. really not sure whether an expensive laser level for domestic, light commercial tiling is worth it??

when you are learning we all tend to get carried away with tools side of things, thinking they'll solve the problems but when you are actually working with good tradesman, its surprising how you soon realise that you dont need as much as you think..

so on that note, 'll now go out and buy a 200 quid laser level!!!!

I bought one from B and Q a few months back, a bosh one that was about 70 quid. Got it because i didn't have too much cash at the time and the aim was to buy a "better one" later on down the line. However i don't need to, the Bosch is really really good. Perfectly bright lines and very accurate.

You might find this useful as well... [DLMURL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM0jheNhrjc"]YouTube - Laser Level[/DLMURL]

took a look and was surprised that it still relies on adjusting a bubble. Think that i would need a water level as well, to check the lazers accuracy!

Self leveling laser takes seconds to set up, no bubbles to worry about

Someone on site yesterday got his out to show me(stanley CLL laser that is)Its an awesome bit of kit thats not too expensive, about £70.
I know its accurate cause he demonstrated it on the toilets I just did and he used my grout lines to prove how straight the laser was:wink_smile:

I find the laser most usefull for working out your datum, you can set it at a given hieght, measure to all your horizontals and then its easy to move it up or down until your cuts work right. I would still use my stabila levels for marking my lines.

Old methods still work just as well if not better than some of the newer ones...but we have to try them to move with the times ..so to speak....

I use the Dewalt DW087K absolutely brilliant bought it from ITS London (mail order) see [DLMURL]http://www.itslondon.co.uk/pd_DEWDW087K_DW087K_DewaltSelfLevellingCrosslineLaser.htm[/DLMURL]

Its magnetic so stick it on an extendable pole the type used to hold plaster board up and and switch on it is self leveling you can have horizontal and or vertical laser lines excellent for setting out and layout work.

I use a laser level on most of my bathroom jobs. Bloody accurate, very quick to set up - Autocross laserliner 3. Purchased from Trade Tiler website - around £170 with pole. David at Trade Tiler did extensive research to find the best on the market for tiling purposes - this is it.
Don't knock it unless you have tried it.
I use a spirit level as well to double check my tiles as I am going along
