Just ordered some new grout floats and a nice trowel

I don't know wether I'd be able to get used to a slanted trowel, do you still tip it at an angle like normal trowels?

i was disappointed with the Raimondi washboy and it was very expensive,it would be nice to know how the groat floats work out

well yes, :smilewinkgrin: you do all the supersmooth mosaics, don't you, all flat and everything ? Mine can be pretty hickletypicklety :lol: but that's the way some people like it... it's artistic mosaic, see?

I love the raimondi floats,
I use that one you have there for walls mostly Dave and this one for floors,they last really well too.



Also Gary,i didn't like the raimondi washboy either(tray sits too high in it so water needs to near top)
Even their trowels are not bad

I have the raimondi grout floats and find them top notch, won't use anything else.....

Bought one of the trowels as well and find them very good.

I have been using those very same those very same grout floats for a long while and love them.
The trowel eats the adhesive but its very good at getting a good bed down. Time will tell how long it lasts though.

I know gary but i go through about 6 floats or more a year each.. so thats 12 floats..LOL.. and at a tenner or so a time it is annoying to say the least.. it is stone work that knacks them..

I am sure it is the Raimondi green pads that are the hard epoxy ones..

Ive the same problem with the marshaltown floats dave , great floats but they dont last , been looking at the raimondi floats so let me know how you get on with em..

I will do...

The thing is with the marshal floats or any other soft core rubber floats is the face starts to peel away from the core quite quickly with heavy use and large floors etc..

So my thinking is the more solid one piece like the Raimondi ones will last a lot longer.. just depends how long they keep the edge.. but i have ordered 2 floats and 4 spare rubbers..

Over the years i have tried loads of different ones.. even the hard rubber compound epoxy floats but they are hard on the wrists.. so anyway. i will let you lot know how we get on with them..and the trowel..🙂
