Im new to tiling and marking out my bathroom to work out where my tiles should work best. I have a small bathroom but want to use 300 x 600 tiles. Also want a mosaic 300 x 300 tile going vertical down the bath wall. The problem is I only have enough room for one 300 x 600 to go each side of the mosaic feature tile, which leaves a sliver of a tile of 50mm each end. The question is, is this ok?

How much of the room are you tiling?
All the walls and floor?
You may have to consider the tile joint running down the walls, and how it will effect the rest of the room if you want joints to follow through.
In reality you would cut 150 off each wall tile either side of the mosaic, so that when those tile joints go down the room they would still marry up with areas without mosaic.

To answer your question tho, the easiest way out of that is to buy extra mosaic and increase the width of the mosaic by one or two tiles, whatever is needed, so that you eliminate the small cut.

A very common problem which is easily overcome by doing as @3_fall says..... or by doing this (look through the shower screen! )......

Cut a full tile in half and set this each side of the mosaic. This in turn creates a tile adjoining each end wall of just over half a tile. A much neater look than slither each end.

If this is a one off project, there's two cost effective options, buy a good quality mechanical cutter like a sigma which will set you back around £200-£250, then resell it on here. You will recover three quarters of your money they hold their value that well, and you'll have the use of an excellent tool for the project.
Or buy an angle grinder and diamond blade for around £75-£80 and have something that will cut both straight and L shaped cuts in one, however, using a grinder takes a little practise.

Having said that, you will need to have the ability to cut L shapes or similar at some point.
Cheap wet machines don't hold their money quite so well at all.
You'd be better off buying a very cheap one with he view to more or less bin it at the end, or just keep it in the shed until you have another project at home.

Yeah it's all in the setting out to get it right
Consider your joints & increase the mosaic -- that will push it out -- Plan Tec's pic should really help.

I think I wilk make the mosaic 100mm wider, id rather that than trying to cut a straight edge on the tile..

I do plan on doing all four walls, just don't feel confident I can cut a straight edge good enough to marry up with the box trim I plan on using to separate the mosaic with the tile.
