Floor sander

I use a slow speed rotary polisher/buffer 180rpm with 80 grit silicon carbide discs. It does the job great and does not great a lot of dust in the air.

This is the best I have tried and I tried lots...Belt sanders ( hand held) 7" grinders with discs, drywall sander ( not bad but too much dust due to high speed) Floor sander ( belt driven, nearly blew it up)
This makes it so easy.

Neale I have the same machine it came with 2 spare drive boards one of which I bolted carborundum stones to as on damp screeds the Silicon carbide discs clog too easily and over work the motor I will take a picture tomorrow but I recommend you try bolting the blocks on the drive board

gary u got these pics? sounds interesting...

I havent had one clog up as yet Gary but you never know. The reason I didnt want to bolt anythhing to the drive board is that I dont want to damage it or even throw it off balance. I use both brushes for cleaning purposes. If i had another spare drive board and the stones then maybe I would try it...the again I havent had a Anhydrite screed for months....most of the builders I work for have gone back to sand and cement.

If they clog it tends to mean the screed is too damp which means it's not ready to tile anyway...
