Have been asked to price a splashback of 8 meters of marble tiles, no one else in my area doesn't seem to want to touch it because 4 other tilers have said they don't have the equipment for it thou I'm going to hire what's needed and have a go at it bul needt want your thoughts on what I'l need and is cutting marble straight forward with the right tools. I'm sitting scratching my head how long it would take me to do it. Might just price it at day rate and see how I get in.

Marble is quite soft, I've done a lot of kitchen worktops and marble cuts easy with a grinder. But to be fair other than a couple of kitchen splash backs in 100mm x100mm I've not done any marble tiling so someone might be able to instruct you better:thumbsup:

If you were a DIY'er I'd suggest you get a professional in.

I have been tiling since mid 90s with a few breaks, however I've never tiled using marble tiles. I'm sure there's nothing to it with my experience with other tiles, just loiking some advice on cutting, hence this thread.

Cuts into corners I'd do with my grinder as they would be siliconed, when doing round the window I'd use my wet cutter to give the best possible finish, all cuts would be seen as I like many others don't use trims with stone. Since I got my polisher and profiling bits 12 months ago I now offer the customer the option of half bull nosing the edges. Most don't want to pay for the extra time but those that do are always blown away how good it looks.

As above, but if you do use a wet cutter you'll have to factor in drying times before you seal and grout.
