Hi Guys
Need a little help. I have a 7m x 7m kitchen floor which is being laid in slate, 600 x 300, on a screeded floor. There is no underfloor heating and I am not sure whether I need an expansion joint. Any advice appreciated.

As Turkish has said an uncoupling membrane like Dura-ci is required to keep the slate stable and counteract any movement

Uncoupling separates the the tiles from contact with the substrate

Expansion joint is where tiles are separated from each other
