Hi there
Another quick question but, if possible, a quick answer would be great as I hope to start this one tomorrow!
A conversion from utility room to bathroom leaves an electric point on the wall inside the bathroom. Can I switch off the ring main, remove the socket box, disconnect the wires and tape with large quantities of insulating tape and then put a tile over the void? I would leave the metal "box" in place to give some strength and ensure that the adhesive is kept away from the wiring.
Any comments/ alternatives would be very gratefully recieved.
Thanks
Jim

It is my understanding that ALL electrical work now carried out in the UK MUST be done by a qualified electrician, even DIY type stuff.

Get an electrician to do it for you.

if its at the end of a ring main , workout the socket that feeds it
un screw the wires and pull the cable through from the bathroom socket
or just just put a plastic cover over it and seal it
