went to look at a job this morning at 9am, jumped in the car and the dashboard reading said -14c, just wondered how accurate they are as it warmed up through the day and got to -5c:thumbsup:

mine will say -10 then as soon as you start the car up it will say -3 so unless the temp suddenly rises in 3 seconds then i would say there not that good.........mind you it is a renault

I've found the car and the van thermometers are always within one degree of each other so have assumed them to be reasonably accurate. Either that or they have the same error.

Van and car both reading -15 this morning..... We have an exterior one on the house too and it's reading -13 just now.

I think they measure the temp of the air going hitting the front grill area, I think they are much more accurate when your moving then when they've been stood collecting ice which would probably account for the rise in temp when you start driving.

I gauge mine on how thick the ice is on the inside and how long i have to light my plumbing torch for it to melt

RUSS! where have you been?

Been around just busy with kids and stuff...........no reflection on my temp guage though! it def says +17, sensor or car computer a bit old and tired methinks!
