What a morning. I turned up at saw this (below). Just a bonding coat with a few undulations!! 600x300 porcelain in brickbond.

The usual from the builder 'I've tiled over bonding and never had a problem'. He got on the phone to the plasterer who gave the solution.......... use PVA and it will be fine.

Oh, and I have to tile around a mirror is mosaics!

Anyway, he is getting it skimmed while I sit at home...........will hopefully have a quote to do in High Wycombe later.

Check the weight of the porcelain first... if its gonna be more than 20kg per metre, it can't go onto skim. Wouldn't something like BAL Quickset Render be better?

Good point, will check it out.

I'm just the tiler so all the prep is done by builder etc. I've got a different job to go to tomorrow anyway.
