Black Grout - which is best? - Tile Advice

Hi there,

I need a black wall & tile grout for 600sq wall & floor high polished bathroom tiles & 330sq matt black kitchen floor tiles.

The grout needs to be as black as possible. I don't mind paying for quality stuff, to help keep my tiler happy (considering it sounds like a tricky job anyway).
Laying on masonry walls, solid timber floor & concrete kitchen floor.

Some joints likely to be up to 10mm

I've been searching for hours but still feel confused.
Mapei BuildFix Flexible has a few decent reviews stating that it is actually black, whereas someone said that Mapei Ultracolor is not/does not stay black.


I've seen good and bad about bal micromax but nothing specific on the ebony.


Also, what's the best adhesive for 600 tiles? Weber seems to get the most use on here followed by mapei?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Always get good results with Mapei Ultracolour Nero as I have with Biscem Black.....but I find getting a grout to match a tile is harder than you think. Only sure way is to test before actually grouting.
Tilemaster do a black grout and the other products have been getting great reviews, dont see why this should be any different.

I also would recommend Mapie ultracolour. Make sure you seal after grouting as black is a nightmare to keep looking good.

Tilemaster is great stuff, i find it a lot better/easier to use that mapei !

ardex do innocent black grout , imo far better than all above

Never used ardex nybor, how is it better.
I find tiemaster better than mapei as grout 3000 is smooth and sets just right .

Defo Tilemaster grout great to use and never had any colour problems
