Bathroom floor tiling - toilet and sink base

What is the view of experienced tilers as to whether to put tiles under toilet base and sik base or tile around these. The toilet and basin are already fixed and I am nervous as to whether I will be able to fit back the pipes into the wall if I remove them and tile under them. Thanks

As above, remove the toilet and basin, tile, and replace them back.

Don't worry too much about the feed pipes, use of flexis and/or isolator valves gets over any height increase.

It's out, tile and re-fit for me everytime. A good plumbers merchant will be able to point you in the right direction for fittings to re-instate the sanitaryware.

Failing that, take a picture or let us know what you need to do with waste and supplys and i can help you with what bits to get to do it.

i do what it says on the tin im a tiler and its not always possibble to remove everything so i tile round them unles the customer wants to pay for a plumber ,obviously it makes it easier with nothing in the rooms but as i say thats why we are tilers if it was so easy we would all be out of work,good luck

I ALWAYS offer to remove & refit items. If I need a plumber, I arrange this and factor it into the quote. Rarely ever need one as it is a take off and refit (very very easy). I have often won a job as it takes the hassle away from the client

I always removing toilet... Don't like to put my head and hands near that dirty toilet and waste pipes :/ Once removed it's easy to put back. Definitely easier and quicker than cut tiles.
Removing sink pedestal it's even easier.

Flexi pipes + offset pan adaptor, much easier to remove! Can't remember the last time I had the paper templates out to cut round these....years!
