Hi,

I'm planning on tiling my bathroom floor, it's in a newly built extension so currently there is no floor at all, just joists at 400mm centres.

I was wondering what I should board the floor with prior to tiling.

Am I right in thinking that T&G chipboard would be bad? Should I be fixing plywood or something similar to the joists instead and then tiling directly on top of that?

Sorry for the rather basic question, I guess it's been asked before (I've tried searching but without any luck)

Thanks

I'd put noggins between the joists to stop em flexing, board with t & g flooring grage chipboard well screwed down then overboard with 6mm Hardie, glued & screwed.
