Hi
I am looking for advice for all you experts.
I am not a tiler but have lots of DIY experience of tiling walls and small floor areas.
The floors are at present 18mm T&G chipboards. I have covered the area approx 16m2 with WBP external Plywood screwed down every 150mm. 250mm x 400mm ceramic floor tiles are to be used. A bit confused as to the numerous adhesives available and the varying cost.
I understand that a flexable adhesive and grout are needed, but which. I have looked at unibond for wooden floors which is also a grout.
I have looked at BAL products but which, and which combination. are there other products anyone would recommend. Cost is also a factor.
I am also looking for advice on what to use to transit from the tiled floor which will join at the top tread of a carpeted stairway.
any advice would be appreciated.

when you say t&g chipboards..is this a floating floor or are they sitting on joists...?

Dont use unibond.
Bal is good adhesive and if cost is a factor , just think how much it will cost to use a cheap adhesive.
We need more details as to the sub floor and what thickness ply have you used to over lay?

HERE'S HOPING YOU USED 12MM PLY MINIMUM!

PCI-Tilefast Rapidflex andPCI-fastrack grout.

These products will see the job done m8.

Thanx to all who replied.

The T&G boards are nailed to the supporting joists which are at 400mm centres. I have supplimented the nails with 60mm screwtite screws. I used 12mm ply. The floor is very firm, so again in your opinion which combination of products would you use. Could I used Bal Flex with an additive if so which one? and which grout product would I use.

Have a look at Ardex 7001 and P51 primer. Specially designed for wooden floors. Much cheaper thanBAL Fasflex........if you can find somewhere that will sell you it (CTD?)
