Hi Gang

I'm going to tile 50m2 of concrete floors with noce tumbled trav in french pattern:

I don't want to use rapid set adhesive and considering Bal CTF3 is that OK?.......also is there any photos posted of noce trav with coloured grout?.... we are undecided what colour to go for.

Thanks.

Your tiling contractor should be able to advise/show you the grout options - IMO : Mapei 132 Beige.
Mapei also do a range of good quality cement based adhesives.

I would use Mapei Beige grout... just one i have used with that type of trav.. 🙂

Adhesive... I would prefer a modified adhesive... but that is just me..

06122011731.jpgBAL Ivory wide joint with gt1 admix I quite like it in BAL Sandstone also.

Addy choice for me Weber SPF white, Weber set plus white AD250 admix or BAL single part flex white

Thanks for posting Lads they both look great and given us a good idea ......what do you think of Mapei marble & stone adhesive and the ultra colour plus grout?

Cheers.

Is there a tile giant near to you? Have a look through the link below and find your nearest store, if you pop in there they will be able to sort you out with all the adhesive, grout and primers you will need.

This link is to a thread I put up a while ago about tiling with stone, some of the members have put some stunning pics of their work up with it, might be worth a read.

Hi Rich

Thanks the nearest Tile Giant is Kilmarnock about 60 miles away according to google map.

We are out in the sticks here hence a lot of internet purchases.

That’s a great post you put up about Tiling with stone and I’ve read it before.

But I’m still confused about which Mapei adhesive and coloured grout is best for Travertine …….there are so many, I would like if possible an adhesive that does not “go off” too fast.

Sorry for being such a pain and I appreciate help from you Guys, my main work is plastering and joinery and have laid floor tiles before but never Travertine so a bit worried I will get it wrong and spoil our cottage, which will be my last project before I retire.. ..(I hope)

Cheers.

Oh thats a bit far to go

The main thing is make sure that the adhesive that you are using is suitable for stone, it will always say on the bag. If you want a bit of time to work with the stuff then make sure that it is standard setting and not rapid. To be honest I always use Mapei's rapid setting adhesives so I will let some1 else give pointers on which standard to use
