Here is a job I’m on at the moment. A bathroom walls and floor, trying my woodwork skills out too

Started a couple of months ago. Joists were rotten, leaky wedi tray. Had to drop the ceiling down stairs, cut the joist back. Re joist.

Bit of a ball ache

I’ll try and keep it with daily (ish) updates.

Nice one. Great prep

I’ve got to board out the final wall tomorrow, build a base for a shower to sit on, as no matter which way around we lay the tray the trap is bang center of a joist

I’ll then set it out an work out the height for a niche in the stud wall, board it and tank all wet areas.

My niche finished horribly. I didn’t have the tiles when I stud the wall. I’ve set out the room for up and down cuts.

A tile will run through that box, although I couldn’t have a full tile as the pipe work was in the way.

A right pain in the arse to sort it out

After a slow start to the day, I managed to get some tiles on the wall. Although I didn’t have the best of days.

Firstly my niche box was not right, I must of measured it wrong cutting it out. It’s to small height wise. I’ll be able to sort it, but annoying!

Secondly I picked up a tile to use as a spacer above the door, tiled away only to realise once I got to the top, the tile I had picked up was not full length!

That really pissed me off! Now I have to put a close in tile unintentionally ha ha. It’s only 18 mm smaller so not so bad. But still!

I’ll upload a pic of the tile I used, along side a full tile.

This seems to be taking me an age, but am getting there! Had to finish early today, shame as there’s only 10 or so tiles left to finish the walls.
