The English modal verbs are a subset of the English auxiliary verbs used mostly to express modality (properties such as possibility, obligation, etc.). They can be distinguished from other verbs by their defectiveness (they do not have participle or infinitive forms) and by their neutralization (that they do not take the ending -(e)s in the third-person singular).
The principal English modal verbs are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, and must. Certain other verbs are sometimes, but not always, classed as modals; these include ought, had better, and (in certain uses) dare and need. Verbs which share only some of the characteristics of the principal modals are sometimes called "quasi-modals", "semi-modals", or "pseudo-modals".
Just putting the feelers out for a couple of moderators. Can't say we need any right away, but we might need some soonish to help share the workload on the forum.

Cheeeeeers.
I've recently had a shower cubicle tiled, by a bit of a jack of all trades builder, and am already concerned it's at risk of leaking. The tiles have yet to be grouted and it appears that the adhesive has only been dabbed on, resulting in voids at the corners where you can see all the way back...

Hi all.
Would anybody know what tiles these are?(pics below) My dad has had a look at the raw edge of the tiles and said they have a brown biscuit, but they are hard to see as they run under the kitchen units.
These tiles are in my dads kitchen and are a pain to keep clean for him because of the...
I start a retile of a kitchen today. I have to remove about 12 - 14m2 of original tiles and make good for tiling again.
Talking to the client I found out who the original tiler was 8 years ago. I know what adhesive he would have used and that gives me confidence in it could be nice and...
Well, had a nice easy day today. Finished up at 12pm, picked up materials for another job & dropped them at the customers house then had a quote to see at 3pm. Was out by 3.30pm.
On my way home on the motorway I thought "great, nice early finish for me" when all of a sudden, engine compartment...
My customer has just dropped off 4m of tiles for me to fix at his new house later this week. Tiles are to go on En-suite floor and they are from B&Q, 600x300x4.5mm. Never told me they would be the thin ones. After checking a few of them they actually seem pretty flat, which surprised me. Just...
Hi everyone
Just had two bathroom floors tiled. I have attached pics but not sure how good they will look on here. Basically the tiles are really sharp like there is not enough grout. He has also done the same to my neighbour, she got him back but hers are still sharp. I've bloody paid him...

Tiling the bathroom, coming to the last row above the shower base. Our query is, do the tiles sit on the base or do we leave a gap for grout. The base is solid and does not move. Which is the best way.

Is there anyway that an anhydrated screed could have been installed incorectally to make a limestone floor fail (Im not saying the screed is to blame) it has underfloor heating wet system, schutler ditra has been used.
