Grout going off too soon. - TilersForums.com

Ive just grouted up a simple splash back . Four M2. The issue I have is that no sooner had I finished grouting, 10-15 min. The grout had gone off rock solid? I used Mapei which incedently I prefer. I managed to clean it back somewhat, but the grout lines are still heavy. Can anyone suggest a method of reducing the grout thickness, without raking out and re-grouting?

Sand paper has so many uses but it will actually scratch porcelain....I know

Was thinking sandpaper folded,using the edge to rub on the grout line, not on the tile face. If that makes sense.

Of course...... it's against the law to use Any other tile in a kitchen..!!
(Seems that way anyway)..
