....then they will be living up to their name. I think the only way this will happen is if the customer cannot afford to have the installation done correctly.

Who wants to work in the murky depths of doubt?

it depends on how credible the cowboys are, I dont like the word cowboy in this economic climate, I prefer chancer because that is what they are

a cowboy is someone who deliberatly scams the customer and rides out of town when the job fails

a lot of people are out of work and taking any job they can find, they are taking a chance and hoping they will muddle through

how difficult can it be to stick a few tiles etc, tiles are tiles arnt they and the shops wouldnt be allowed to sell adhesive if it didnt stick the tiles to the wall, anyway it says on the tub it will stick stone and all ive got to do is prime the walls with pva , my mate down the pub has told me that

someone with a bit of chat can convince the customer that the other guy is talking tosh and is only trying to bump the job because hes got no work, and thats not surprising if he gives out advice like that

you leave it to me i wont rip you off and ill do what you want

the worst part about this is that they aint lying, they actually believe it

having a bit of time on my hands... made my son a sandwich for lunch, I thought I'd try an experiment..I put a slice of butered bread on the splashback walls and the suction held it there so I buttered another slice and put it on the first slice, they both fell off, similar scenario albeit a strange experiment:lol:

Can't make a satisfactory conclusion on this experiment until we have more details.......was the bread thick sliced, thin sliced, white, brown, crusty, butter, margarine???? more details please :lol:

Ray, I always carry copies of weight ratios when I'm quoting and a few times have told the customer 'NO' I won't put THOSE tiles on THAT wall, and heres the reason why. They get the message when you ask what could happen if their child is in the bath and a tile came away!
