Hi,
i have just been asked to tile a utility floor,how does a washing machine affect the fixing and grout over time!!

as long as tiles are solid bedded it will be fine.

as long as you do the washing in the machine you should be alright then again if you do it on the floor and if the tiles are laid properly it should still be fine 😛ete

pop a cup full of microflex in with the wash, this will stiffen your shirt collars and prevent mould growth...lol

If there are fitted units and work top ensure that the washing amchine will still fit in this space after tiles have been fixed.

and make sure the finish floor is level are washing machine will do a wee bit a body popping and end up in the middle of floor lol

you lot are aff yer heid,what about the poor blokes question?AS SOMEONE ELSE SAID use a solid bed trowel and make sure floor is level once tiled. (cheered me up,this thread):grouphug:

Also a capfull of GT1 in the conditioner draw will give added flexibility to your smalls....Gaz

failing all these great suggestions you could rip out the washing m/c, replace it with a drinks cabinet and leave a voucher book to the local laundrette on the work top. when quizzed about this drastic change tell the lady of the house the cabinet will keep the old fella happy, she wont have to worry about getting the m/c out when it breaks down because you would have had to tile up to it, thus blocking it in! then explain the laundrette is next door to her mother in laws who has agreed to take her washing there in the future! A much more agreeable solution than solid bed fixing, im sure you will all agree!!!!! oh and yes iam bored out of my skull:yawn:
