I have a pail of MBP bonding primer that I decided not use over a smooth surface. I instead covered the surface with Wunderboard. Does the MBP(multisurface bonding primer) waterproof the substrate as Redguard would? Or should I spend the $45 for the Redguard?

I’d agree with Albert above,
I would say by the very definition of the word primer it would suggest it’s not a waterproofing agent.
