Been a while since I tiled a domestic:hurray: what are the prices like now days inc materials and how do we compare to the rest of the world ?

hard to say really Pete, adhesives etc that we get in this country, may not be available elsewhere and vice versa, so unless we can compare brand for brand, it'd be quite hard to give an accurate answer

one of my mates tells me he charges £30 for tiling and £35 for slate & stone + mats and that is using tile trim he used to miter not anymore was only about 5 years ago i used to charge £25 for tiling inc mats & £30 for stone terracotta slate inc mats i wonder what you charge in the USA Rob Z per foot i believe ?

Hi Pete

I don't do standard tiling jobs and so I never do anything by the square foot. We are almost always doing a tile installation as part of a larger remodel project.

I can tell you that around here in the Washington DC area, prices run $4-8 per sq ft for basic installations with substrate prep being extra. In some markets, such as Florida, the guys I know on internet forums tell me work in Florida is going for under a buck a foot. :yikes::yikes:

To convert, I think there are ~ 10.5 sq ft in a sq meter, and one $USD is =0.6 BP.

1 x 9 feet = 1 sq yard x 1.196 = 1 sq 1 mtr or devide 1.196 = 1sq yard
