A dilemma has reared its head and im stuck with which to go for.

I had my heart set on a Sigma as my dad used them and i got on well with them. However after talking to Diatech today and getting the price on the 3DK (which incidentally they say doesnt exist?) I ended up with a price for the 3D which is a slightly longer cutter and probably too long for my needs.

I looked at tradetiler to see what the score is with the monolit and i know Dave likes his one. They also to a 750 which would suit my needs more.

Any advice welcome although on reading back its almost as if i have just made a valid point for the montolit

if i could learn to like single rail cutters again, then my 3 would be...

sigma 6
montolit 75p
sigma 3ek

if money wasnt an issue

sigma 6
montolit 63p with the new short measuring bar
montolit 93p
sigma 3ek

i dont mind pull cutters upto about 50cm but after that, i prefer to push, just feels more natural to me...that sigma 3ek is a fantastic cutter!! and for the price its very good value!

Thanks Ed

I now see that Sigma have a 750 as well but it seems more expenive than the montolit. I was ready with card in hand to order the 3dk today but whent hey said it didnt exist it made me rethink. 🙁

Yes, i cant see much difference between the 3D and the 3DK except the K range with the click clock handle cut slightly shorter. They are a lot cheaper though

Gizzy am confused m8, I read a quote saying you served your time with Tofflo, but you have only been Tiling 8 years?

Served my time with a lot of ex Tofflo men, great fixers & Terrazzo men

I've been a Rubi fan for years, but bought a 750 Montolit from Tradetiler, and its a fantastic piece of kit, cuts big thick porcelain really well, i can only advise on what i have, I've not used Sigmas for years, bugt i do hear the Rubi Tx's are really good too.

Am i the only person using a kaufmann topline? ive used all cutters through out my time this is by far the best.
