Tiling with Fired Earth tiles

I'm just about to start tiling a porch using Fired Earth floor tiles. They are made from high fired clay. Is there anything specific anyone knows of when using these tiles. The Fired Earth website doesn't give much away on how to treat them etc.

Work cleanly...........these stain easy.........well, the light part anyway.

Needs to be well sealed

Sealing​

Geometric tiles should be sealed with two
sparing coats of​

MN Stain-Stop. Geometric
tiles require no further sealant or finishing.
Fired Earth Roman Mosaic tiles do not
require sealing prior to grouting.
Fired Earth Encaustic tiles on the other
hand are extremely delicate before they
receive there protective sealant coats. These
tiles should therefore be wiped down with a
clean dry cloth prior to sealing. It is
recommended that gloves are worn during
this process to avoid contaminating the
tiles with oils from the skin.
Dirty marks should be cleaned thoroughly
with warm soapy water and a scotchbrite
pad if required. When clean and dry, apply
between three to four uniform coats of​

fully in to the tiles. Encaustic tiles should be​

sealed before they are fixed.

As far as I know.

HG makes the stuff for Fired earth...........just repackaged in there own bottles, and no doubt sold at twice the price:whatchutalkingabout

If I remember rightly........it was a tech bod from fired earth who told me that as well

I would get the sealant from fired earth then you wont have a problem. i do loads for fired earth and always use what they recommend. If the customer is buying fired earth they wont mind the cost.
