Hi Guys,

We have a bathroom with timber paneling, which has been painted with gloss paint. We are thinking of tiling over it and was wondering are we OK to tile over it as it is, should we remove the paint or should we cover it in something first? The paneling is softwood timber and not MDF or ply.

Thanks,

Dan

Remove it you can't tile that stuff.

If you remove it and then board with plasterboard, then tile that. Or fix plasterboard to it, but make sure your fixings go through it and into the substrate.

I'd remove it though.
