Tiling on normal plaster board for shower

I have come across a shower cubicle to be tiled, the plaster board seems to be regular one (non water resistant) I seem to have two options, one prime the plaster board and tile it with good quality water proof adhesive, or tank it first. Just wanted to get a second opinion on this, is it safe to only prime it and use water proof adhesive or should I tank it?

Bal grip which highly water resistant but not water proof

No such thing as waterproof adhesive Protiler999, as said above, tank it.

Yes a long time ago it's called epoxy but don't want to use it if I don't have to

Don't appreciate your snide comment Dave, this is a forum, not a place to belittle, as I said in my intro, I was trained 20 years ago and I am getting into it again to get acquainted to current methods and materials, I am not afraid to ask when I don't know something, don't need to made wrong for it either, aren't we supposed to help each other in these forums?
