Tile on Plywood

Hi, I've built a small cupboard out of plywood at the end of my bath which I would like to tile to match the rest of the bathroom. Can anyone advise the best approach to this? I'm using Mapei keraquick cement based adhesive but not sure on how or what to use for sealing?

Generally not a good idea to tile to ply.Can you use plasterboard or cement board ?

agree over board with cement board, i.e aqua panel
