Hi all,
Long time with no speak, so my apologies....

I have a couple of jobs coming up that require me to fix split face tiles.

In both cases they are "glued" together rather than on a mesh. The backs of the tiles are as uneven as the face so my question is regards to fixing. Do I just go big with my trowel notch and risk adhesive bleeding through to the face which may be a nightmare to control and clean, or is there another fixing method that I'm blinkered to?

Many thanks,

Daz

Given the variation in depths that will require a lot of adhesive and a large area to lay them out to dry....
I like your thinking but I'm not sure I fancy that method unless it's my only option....

How's my bath board?
Your going to have to flat back them at some point so prior to fixing may be an option. As you won't be able to grout the face it will be necessary to use fully waterproof adhesive and make sure the joints are tight and filled.
Miss the Saturday night 'chats'!

Thanks TJ.
I guess the fixing will have to be done the way I was trying to avoid
I was hoping someone would say stick 'em up with gripfill

Split faced uncalibrated?
As long as floor is level I use a 20mm u-notched trowel to allow for the difference in size. Plus back buttered.

Who mentioned anything about floors? This is a split face (drop stone effect) job on walls.
