My tiler tells me that because my tiles are not in a wet area and have a bevel they do not need to have spacers as the tiles have a mosaic effect finish so the whole tile is grouted. Is this correct advice?

I know what is being asked, but at least a 1mm joint is advisable. So no, not correct.

I think your tiler has been in a wet area too long, turned his brains to mush:thumbsdown:

I think I know the type of tiles you mean , if you try for a 2mm grout gap, it makes the tile stand out, if you try a 1mm gap the wall looks like a continuous mosaic. Some tiles are designed to grout the whole face.(CTD showroom have them but not grouted on display) In a perfect world these tiles should be made 2mm smaller so a decent grout line can be achieved

ditto  you could try the 2mm hollow pegs and they can be squeezed down to 1.5mm i have done this before with these tiles as 1mm is too small and 2mm is too big
