So How Was Your Day?

Not in the mortar mix itself, priming each piece with prime plus grip.

I always do. It's like adding polymer to tile adhesive I'm told.
Basic but helps with water, frost, bond, bit of flexibility...

Cool, thanks for the advice.
Would you do the same with pointing mix?
Can’t stand that brush in stuff.

I have done, but beware that it can change shade and colour of your mix so dose accurately and it tends to make it go off much faster and risk staining, so if you do, work cleanly.
Maybe go 3:1 for pointing?
(I'm no expert at external work)

I don’t know if @Andystiletiling has mentioned it but we are over halfway through a 77 room hotel, brand new.
Quite enjoying it really , bit repetitive, but a lot of singing and dancing mskes the days move quicker.
Earning good money , we put invoice in and gets paid in hours , best bit is i can see it from my house 😉
77 room hotel paid in hours and some jumped up builder doing a small extension wants to pay end of month 30 day invoice

funny enough Craig, Andy has mentioned it. It appears his doing all the work, your taking the cream and having a few holidays. Good work if you can get away with it 😛 :tshirt:

Better than metros or mosaics though!

I went to a job yesterday ,the guy used the levelling clips ,i looked at a few tiles, and lifted them with a little force by hand where the clips levelledthe tile ,but created a void where it lifted ,

They’re not magic but on large planks they’re a must imo.
You just need to make sure the clips hold the tile in place or force it down further. If it’s raising a tile then that’s no good.

All together now!
Waffle doggie, he’s such a clever dog,
he’s such a clever doggy wog.... :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Not the best of days last week. Started a commercial job 2 weeks ago, at least 6 months work doing bathrooms in a block of flats.
Got called into a room by the site agent to look at some snagging, was shown a revel that he said didn’t line up with the main wall, the joint was less than a mm difference, I couldn’t even see it.
I said “that’s taking the **** but hey I’ll do it again”
next thing I get a visit from our contracts manager telling me I’ve been chucked off the job. So now I’m out of work.
