can anyone tell me the going rate for removing emulsion paint from walls and also removing old tiles?and what is the best method??thanks.

price Your day rate or for tiles £10 per m2 . Why would you need to remove emulsion paint? as for tiles SDS drill with chisel

went on uk tilers forum last night wen this site down.was readin up on jobs likewise to wot im doing.ther was a difference of opinions.some sed NEVER tile over emulsion,as eventually tiles will come down, others say scrub with wire brush, wash down, prime and tile and others say tile straight on uless flaky of course.any advice here would be great!!

Preferably get the tiles off with an SDS rotostop drill with tile chisel. Prep the surface with plaster if damaged, allow to dry then tile as normal.

🙂

I was told to use carpet fitters tape, stick it on the wall leave for 5 min pull it off, and see if paint comes off.

just charge day rate for removing paint and tiles... wire brush is ok for removing paint but you can get a rotary one for your drill this will make work easier....as for tiles good old hammer and bolster , mechanical removal tends to damage walls to much but good for floors...

just started a job removing old tiles used hammer and chiesel to avoid to much damage to plasterboard, used fein multimaster to remove paint worked a treat, stripped all in 4 hours 17m2
