Firstly can I say a massive thanks to Ray and Gary (and a few others whose names I don't know!) for putting this day on for us. I personally found it to be very informative and very worth while attending. It was great to get hands on with the cutting and fitting of these tiles just to see how they were to work with, I can honestly say I would be 100% confident fitting these tiles if and when the chance arises.

It it was nice to meet a few forum members and see some old faces from Phil Hobson's birthday, sorry to Mark (Whitebeam) for not having a clue who you were  I hope some of you have some pics because I didn't take any as I was too busy showing Deano how to tile

Once again, thanks for the day Ray and Gary, also thanks for the freebies

I've moved this post into this thread, I hope you don't mind. The other thread is huge and I didn't want it to get lost in nearly 200 posts.

Re: training day for fixing cutting large thin format tiles

hello all, got back from rays shop a little while ago, and wanted to say what a great day it was. would definitely feel ok about working with the large format thin tiles after today, as the training was pretty comprehensive, and ray is highly knowledgeable about his subject. in fact some of the tips today are going to be a big help for my tiling generally, not just for the porcel thin tiles . also great to meet up with some of you on here as well, not sure about the rest of you, but i only ever meet the other trades on site so it's fantastic to meet up with other tilers. if this day is run again i would highly recommend to others, as these tiles look to me like the could be a big thing in tiling in the coming years. anyway, would also like to say a big thanks to ray and his team for making the day happen, and all the others there for making it such a great day. cheers and all the best. john

As Bri has said a big thanks to Ray who supplied all the materials to use, both Ray's and Gary's expertise with the very large format tiles and others who were involved in making the day a success, we was fed and watered as well with fews beer thrown in for good measure:8:

Don't worry about not having a clue who I was, happens all the time Bri:lol:

Yeah Mark, I heard someone say you were meant to be coming down & couldn't make it.
Sorry I never introduced myself but still not sure who you were today..

It's exactly as Bri said, you seem to have a vision how someone looks and when you meet them..totally different.

I was late due to a flyover to the Isle of Dogs being shut by the police....
