Hi all,
Mother in law living with us for four months, just bought a flat (first floor).....need to replace bath with shower and need to complete job quickly!
Not sufficient space beneath floor for matki waste and to have gradient for discharge into stack. Would like to keep tray as close to floor as poss so waste pump would seem to be the solution. Have not put one in before...can anyone advise of any make/model and any advice. Found a couple, but rather strangely work on gravity and need to be positioned under the tray (big box!)????Doesn't that defeat the idea?

I think for a 'Sani flow', pump the shower waste has to be 150mm or so above the height of the entry into the saniflo. (something like that anyway) So the step into the shower is quite high.

As Faithhealer suggests I think you're looking for a Saniflow. Not sure off the top of my head about the 150mm fall into the unit but he may well be right. As stated problem is hiding the box but in terms of doing the job the Saniflow systems will pump 10m vertically and up to 40 metres horizontally.

If you've installing a WC the 'box' can be plumbed in to take the waste and would sit behind the WC which is then easier to hide.

I got a pumped wetroom and shower gulley / drain that discharges through 15mm or 22mm pipe which are shallow at between 32mm and 52mm deep working off a pump :
