overboarding - Tile Advice

Hello everyone,

I am preparing my bathroom floor before a proffessional tiler tiles 600 x 300 matt tiles. I have wooden floor boards (24 mm) what would be the recommended ply thickness to overboard with ? I am having undefloor heating fitted on top of the ply with 10 mm tile backer boards. Do the tile backer boards help with strengthening? I hope this makes sense.

If you make sure deflection is at a minimum then you can adhere the insulation boards direct to the floor boards.

if not even then you could replace the floor boards with 25/28mm ply then ufh and s.l.c to keep your height down

Ok The floor is very stable because I fitted noggins as recommended on this site. Do you think it would be worth boarding with 6mm ply just to add extra stiffness? The board is ekoboard from uheat is this the right product to use? Thanks

Yes.. i would they are a stronger board and not really that much more..
