best Bet it to overboard it with 6mm Hardiebacker, glued, screwed and taped with Alkaline resistant tape

Blunt Tool
Rubi TF fond memories of them, the plywood was to give the base a bit of give, the forerunner of spring loaded beds, worked very well and actually got better with age.
Hope it was 15mm ply..!
