Hi, just tiled my wooden bathroom floor. Tried to do everything right screwing down the floor etc but got in a bit of a panic using Bal Fastset tile adhesive and have left one of the tiles sticking up quite badly in the middle of the room. Is there any way to remove the tile without breaking the ones next to it or weakening the floor or would it be best just to live with my mistake. Thanks

Welcome to tilersforums.com Dave Dobson. Thanks for introducing yourself.

thanks but I havnt grouted yet Im just worried if I try to prise the tile up it might break the other tiles or ruin the wood underneath, I used quite a lot of adhesive, whats the best way to do it. Thanks for such a quick reply.

hi dave if u dont leave it to long this should be quite easy to do i would use a hand grinder with a diamond blade grind across the tile from corner to corner all 4. go right through the tile just into the adhesive if ur lucky u can scrape the grout out around the tile edge with a stanley knife if not grind the grout out carefully taking care not to touch the adjasent tiles get a hammer and a small chisel and tap the centre of the tile and the tile should lift from the middle remove the tile and get a blade scraper to scrape the adhesive up ready to re tile  hope this helps

tap it with a hammer into small pieces (seriously!) and wear eye protection too:thumbsup:

You are a real gent, thanks very much, I laid them yesterday, will try in the morning, thanks again

If they are not grouted then just do as the lads have said.. tap with a hammer from the centre of the tile into smallish bits... clean the area free from adhesive and re-fix..

:welcome:mate as above, a lot easier when not grouted. A bit at a time, and as said eye protection:thumbsup:

just had to have a go, thanks a million it worked a treat. The hardest bit was swinging the hammer for the first time but once it started to go it came off quite easily. I really cant thank you enough.:hurray:

They enjoy giving the correct advice... no probs as long as the members helped, that is what counts....

Hope you didn't close your eyes for the first hit of the hammer..
