Dear Frances,

Mapei Keraflex can be used on the walls without no issues providing the substrate is solid, dry and contamination free.

We unfortunately do not have any test results to confirm if any Mapei adhesives will work with the Aquaseal tanking system. However given the description the Aquaseal tanking system sound similar to our Mapei Shower Waterproofing Kit but it would be recommended to confirm with Everbuild what classification of adhesive they would suggest to adhere tiles to their system.

On the understanding that Everbuilkd have confirmed a C2TE adhesive is suitable and the underfloor heating system has been commissioned Mapei Keraflex could potentially be used to bond the 450x450mm tiles

We hope that this information is of benefit to you and if you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

A quick question.
Is Mapei Keraflex adhesive suitable for wet room with the following substrates?

It is
Ground floor
Concrete floor with warm water (max 30 degrees) UFH
Wet area shaped with screed
Tanking with Aquaseal Wet Room System Kit - Waterproofing membrane for shower and wet room
Tiles 450mm square ceramic water absorption 3% < E < 6%

Walls concrete
Water resistant plasterboard
Wall tiles 450mm x 318mm ceramic

Thank you
Frances

I

Italy

so I was always wrong :)
I didn't realize that the tile was 45x31
strange measure.
I did it even with normal keraflex
small tiles, but I prefer to go safe with a heated floor.

Why not just stick with Mapei for the shower proofing kit also for peace of mind of compatibility? can't be much difference in price, an extra £20 or something.

Thank you antonio for your replies. I appreciate the helpfulness on this forum.
Tony_C - I understand the compatibility issue - especially with a wet room.

Subject: Fw: C2TE adhesive and Aquaseal wet room kit compatibility

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your enquiry, both cement based and acrylic tile adhesives can be used over the Aquaseal system.

So the cement based C2TE certified product would be suitable.

Kind regards,
