Everyone deserves a second chance.

Except cowboy tilers.

they were adamant nothing was wrong with them and still haven't formally admitted it either, but at least they have agreed to start replacing tiles in high traffic areas.

To be honest since I haven't paid for the tiling or the retention fee, I will make them redo the whole floor before they see any money.

Do you have any pics of the tiles that came up etc. You said they were incorrectly fixed. In what way was the coverage not good? How we’re they fixed.

I had a previous post on the matter here. There were quite a few issues that came up but the main one was lack of adhesive coverage. Some of the tiles that were taken up had barely 30% coverage.

the architect who's managed the project said I need to give them the chance to rectify the problem. I've got them to redo just the hallway first (about 8 tiles) and since I work from home and have cameras fitted everywhere I can monitor their work.

sadly, I'm not sure if I'm in a position to demand they hire a professional tiler to carry out the works

Do you trust they will do a good job ?

they either did a rubbish job the first time because they were trying to cut corners, or they are simply incompetent and are tiling based off what they'd seen on youtube (which tbh should have resulted in a better job than they originally did)

they'll be refixing a small section initially so I can ,with my limited experience/knowledge at least check the've done an adequate job before they do the rest
