I would need more details of the tile to be used and layout/dimensions of the area.I have a 180 sqm Floor to tile on s and c screed with ufh . Customer does not want to use movement membrane (ditra ,dural etc ) I won't do it without. Just wondering how many of you would .
There are no expansions joints in screedI would need more details of the tile to be used and layout/dimensions of the area.
Have exspansion joints been incorporated into the screed in the correct locations already?
As above has the UFH been commissioned properly?
All things being equal then yes I would tile it.
would you use ditra with thin porc?I'd do it, provided the floor was commissioned, and I could fit expansion joints (even just a soft one) every 8m and between doors.
If it was natural stone or thin porcelain - Ditra or I walk away.
would you use ditra with thin porc?
Just keeping Impish on his toesDepends on the application Harry, areas of stress involving heavy loads, probably not.
Domestic, low traffic, yes possibly.
But more normally, antifracture.
And try to encourage it on every floor.
No. 6mm magnum by florim was what i had in mind on floors. I'd be a tad worried about 4mm like laminam/porcelthin with Ditra. Maybe then rapid-mat to lose compression risk.even sub 6mm against recommendation?
Schluter
If solid-bedded, I'd be very amazed if a high heel could damage 4mm porcelain on ditra.
Not saying it's impossible but I can't see it myself, even with a 24 stone lady in louboutins!
