job today,

I have my public liability john, I simply thought it was just to ensure I will be turning up. but when I was discussing with them about what was going to happen they seemed serious about tomorrow. Should I be so hasty to dismiss them?

Good!
Then it's your choice, as your not getting paid its good practice for you!
As far as tiling on tiles are concerned you need to know what the tiles fixed are fixed too (as it could even be wallpaper for display) and what weight the tiles you are being asked to fix combined make - only then you can make a decision to stay or walk.
Cutting corners now isn't a path you should follow but without the experience to be in control of your working environment, others will 'suggest' the way they want it undertaken.

Most tile shops use hot glue for their displays, easy to change at a later date. So long as you're not fixing 20mm thick stone, I wouldn't be overly concerned. You were right to ask the question though.

Don't panic ash,in showrooms they usually tile the floors over builders paper, tile over tiles and tile on ply using glue guns.
I have never heard of a accident in any shop yet.
Displays ain't up for long

and if its a hot glue gun you are using yo only get one chance sticking them on,no time for adjustment

Bri it literally glue on back, stick on wall and ,well, that's it ,stuck, and like baby poo to a blanket as well

Oh I've just read bri's reply, should of read it all 1st
