Excellent that, its good for a new wall but normally it got a finished bedroom on the other side.

Makes me cringe using a circular saw like that, I do it but only with my Bosch 10.8.

Very true and the majority of my work is also refurb work where there’s access to one side only. In this instance I now use insta stick on all the studs that are bowed in. Works really well.

Had to google instastick...expanding foam? So you don't use driwall screws with this?

I do, ten minutes after the foam has set. It’s not really expanding foam. It’s More of an adhesive. Great stuff. I was dubious at first.

I've got a collated driwall gun so takes no time, also its not cheap that stuff but its good to know it exists, are you saying it pulls bowed studs straight Waluigi?

No no..... if for example you have a run of studs and a few are dipped inwards, I’ll fill the void in the studs with the foam.

Often you will have a few studs in line, screw to those studs, fill the rest and screw after it’s set. I tend to fit my boards horizontally as most tiles are installed landscape. The same principle can be used to get walls Plumb too.

The manufacturers of the foam also state that plasterboard can be direct bonded to studs with no fixings at all.

I understand now, I tend to use thin ply strips it certainly saves on addy if its flat.
