Hi all.

When fixing the first lot of tiles - Why do I see people "baton" the wall for the first set..??

Why do you not start from the bottom & tile upwards?

Or is it just a preference people use?

Thanks

because floors are very rarely level to work off.
some will use battons some with strike a level around the room and cut the bottom row in 1st.

Thanks for that.

I always have the laser level out showing the first top line & tile to that.

I thought I may have been missing something special.

I always use a baton because I'm yet to find an adhesive that is guaranteed to not slip. No matter the tile size it'll slip slightly.

Hey, With Hilux 4x4 on this. Laser level first course up, cut in bottom course and get the majority of the hard work done first.

first tiling I ever completed I batoned & it just didn't go right.

So I started from floor upwards on the next go - with laser & it just seems easier to me.
