As a manufacturer/supplier, Sealux would be interested to hear views on:

What should differentiate a tile retailer from a DIY shed selling tiles/accessories?

Product knowledge and a good variation in available materials for me.

DIY sheds tend to have people pushing tiling stuff ( and everything else) without any real training. Also, in general they don't sell "professional quality" materials.

quality tools and not DIY crap that most of these little shops sell......and staff that know what they are talking about........

I can walk into my independant grab 4 or 5 samples no charge and no tills full of happy DIY's then ring the bloke I know and get delivery when I need it. . . absolutely priceless when compared to the dizzy fruit bats in the big stores. Plus the stuff is miles better

product knowledge is of most importence from informed and preferably experienced staff...then there's the stock of quality materials,tools,tiles..blah,blah,blah...

And what is more a tile retailer should make it possible that, whenever problems occur, either they come to site or a company/manufacturer representative (tiles, trims, boards, adhesive or else) comes to site when claims or problems come up.
This is something that DIY-stores seldom can offer.
