So you used the flash floor cleaner from newly laid to the clean you tried.. depending on the flash used it could have been to aggressive for the polished finish and taken the shine down... If intensive cleaner has not cleaned them then i would look a getting a specialist in to re-polish the floor.. this can be done quickly with correct products and machine.

Tony from marble life(Marble-tony) , would be able to arrange this for you..

Thanks Dave!

Before you even think about having it re-polished. May I suggest that you boil the kettle (let it cool for a while) be careful! pour the hot water onto the tile scrub it in a bit then wipe up with paper towel then buff it with a towel.

It just sounds to me like you have had so much cleaning product on there that it maybe just years of soap scum and flash is well known for it. The reason why flash is well known for it is that because flash smells "good" people believe the more you put in the better it is when in fact a cap full is usually sufficient.

Thanks tony. I'll give that a try tomorrow. Where are you based if I do need it repolished? I'm in the south near Chichester.

We are based just outside Birmingham (Solihull) but we cover the country I doubt there are many that know how to re-polish

Hi Tony

I tried scrubbing a tile with boiling water, wiping it up and buffing it but I'm afraid it made no difference.

Hi Tony

I scrubbed a tile with boiling water this morning and then wiped it and buffed it but unfortunately it looks just as bad.

Steve

Sorry - didn't realise my earlier reply had been posted!

Okay if you PM me your contact information and details then will get in touch with you sometime next week I will be in Southampton in about 2 weeks doing a job so may pay to visit you around then to have a look.

Hi, sorry for piggy backing onto your thread Steve but i have a similar problem and was wondering if you managed to resolve yours?
I had 600x600 porcelain tiles laid in my kitchen 10 months ago - i was advised that they would need sealing after theyd been laid which i did. However they are no longer black and shiny but rather a dark grey and dull! V dissappointing considering I have been extra careful with them.
I clean them with diluted flash cleaner so i wouldnt think this was abrasive enough to remove the sealer, and i dont over clean them either.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Stacey

Hi Stacey

I looked at getting them repolished but it was going to cost too much. They're even worse now so I'm reconsidering! Did you have any joy?

Steve

hi copel
by the looks of things the grout is stained, i wound say that the grout was not sealed when the floor was layed
to restore the grout line colour use lithofin outdoor cleaner.
apply for 5 min then remove with sponge.
you may need to do this process for a bit longer if the stain does came out completely.
once cleaned leave to dry for 24 hours.
ps try this on a test area to get an idea of the dwell time needed and to ensure no damage is evident
after this process seal with the new product from fila pd15 to restore the porcelain tiles.
ps this will also seal the grout

good luck let me know how you get on
