in the bathroom I am doing its an ex council

the walls are bad ( pretty sure the council only employ monkeys )

house built in 50s
artex walls , then gone over countless times with fresh skim over the years.
this rules out hacking off for two reasons:

1. Artex
2. poured concrete wall

the only option is to d&d boards to the walls as is.
the walls are painted but i have gone berserk scoring them with an old chisel tonight
( looks like a maniac has been locked up inside )

in your opinion will this be sufficient to support:

d&d boards
tile addy
ceramic tiles ( full room height )

as the plasterer is due at 9am :yikes: and its only just occurred to me tonight about the paint
and i dont really fancy them falling off any time soon.

Dot n dab the walls but I would mechanicaly fix the boards aswell with hammer fixings..

cheers andy

I thought of using some mechanical fixings to help support earlier
reassuring to hear it from a pro!

in your opinion d&d and screws too should be good enough then?

Brilliant!

Thanks again Andy, plasterers due in the morning so will order the fixings tomorrow
do you have a link I can find them through as google doesn't seem to have much luck.

Yes! I use the metal hammer fixings.try a company called Jackoboard! 

hi andy those hammer fixings wont hold the board up unless washers are used is that correct mate? as once you nock the plug thrugh the board it will create a whole as big as the screw head am I rite? cheers
