I went down to price up a floor tiling job on a new build....I was shocked as to how many cracks there were on the whole of the ground floor. Due to settlement I know..I'm guessing the chances of the cracks coming through the tiles are quite high...600x600 porcelainosa....what would you guys say would be the best method to tackle this?....ditra matting?

my brother bought a new build, national company, he is not aloud to put floor tiles on ground floor for 3 years.....

I am a joiner by trade yes. Been tiling for around 13 years now. Never been to a college to learn...just learnt from helping pro tilers and time served guys

Crack suppresion matting such as Durabase or similar. Might be worth double checking if tiles can even go over that floor yet as some new builds are, as mentioned, not advised to be tiled for a year or two.

The customer already has the tiles from topps and they know it's a new build but I suppose they are only interested in the sale

Which tiles out of curiosity? What adhesive you planning? Durabase will still be my recommendation for crack suppression however.

I'm thinking towards a flexible Addy and grout to allow for movement. But if I use ditra then I could use some non flexible bal rapid set I'm guessing?
