I have recently started using Mapei grout and am having troubles with cleaning/polishing off the tiles as it leaves a chalky residue. Does anyone have any suggestions???

hello mate.. give this product a go....

Lithofin Cement-Away - 1L
A very strong acid for the removal of stubborn cement residue, efflorescence and heavy builders dirt. For newly laid and older non-acid sensitive tiles such as porcelain, ceramic, quarry, terracotta, slate and sandstone tiles

i found mapei grout the same but now go over the walls or floor ive grouted with clean water a small section at a time then change the water in the grout boy for fresh and then do another section and so on until i was happy it would dry residue free usually about 2 or 3 times. hope this helps mate!

i use a dry hessian ( dont know if that is spelt right! ) cloth for removing chalky grout residue

the secret is plenty of clean water - followed by alight polish with a cloth....never tried net curtains myself !¬

Vinegar and water work everytime, takes care of haze in the darker grouts and is also magic on excess grout,
Mike
