Hi All,

I am tiling a kitchen floor, concrete, and going through to the utility, also concrete, but there is a step, approx. 1 inch, I want to go straight through and not show the step. Does anyone know the best way to do this?? Think it may be too high to put down levelling compound?
Cheers

You can use chippings in with the levelling compound to increase the thickness you can go. Call BAL on 01782 591100 and ask for techinical and they can give you more details. Their compound is called Multibase, so ask what chippings you require to go to your maximum thickness.

If you want to make a small slope, don't know why, but if you did, you can 'double-tile' where you use a layer of maybe damaged tiles firstly with standard adhesive and create a slope and then tile over it fully afterwards?

Hope this helps.

Try and use a PTB (pourable thick bed adhesive) it will set up to 28mm thick, probably takes 24 hours to set though
