bad screeding by builder

bluewaters tiling here am new to this forum.Have a job coming up soon 80 mtrs limestone flooring.Problem is that the builder did the screed him self and is like a camels back! And has underfloor heating under the sceerd.Any suggestons would be great

Self levelling compound - and add some micro fibres to it or granite chippings to bulk it out if it is really bad.

Its going to be expensive for the customer, but him trying to save a couple of quid is now going to cost him unfortunately 😉

Granfix does a leveler that goes up to 50 mm, be carefull what other problems raising the floor creates though

id pour the leveller around the humps not over them ,this way you will be lowering the hump

Me too, long piece of string to find the highs and lows then mark them out, 80m2 is a big area to level though.

If hieght is a problem you could grind the high points down using a floor grinder not expencive from hss think about £25 aday. then use slc to build up the low points

Just A Quick Tip Lads, Dont Foret When Tiling Onto Heated Screeds , Heating Must Be Turned Off And Allowed To Cool And Not Turned On Again According To Manufactures Guidlines, Commission Period Usually 14 Days + After Tiling And When Turned On Only Turn Up 1-2 Degrees A Day Until Up To Temp . This Is Done Because Addding Sudden Heat Might Cause Tiles To Debond From Sustrate.

Thanxs for the advice guys job is now complete. I have never come across such bad sreed before in the end i still had to dbl bed the tiles anyway to level the whole of the floor.bloody hard job but going to charge the earth for it!🙂
