Moggy minor!! Had 3 sheets of 18mm ply in her yesterday cut in half
Best advertisement! Get all I need in it!.
Unlike the big vans everything rolling around

What do you have at the mo
I have the renault traffic 10 years old now and i had it from new, its been a great van, i have been all over the country in her ,but the clutch started making a nose ,this week so took her to the garage this morning and they said there are a few big-jobs to do ,and when you weigh -up what its worth...........

I've been thinking about one myself recently although in reality it will be next year before I get one. I love my Trafic, done another 1900 miles in her over the last 2 weeks but I need something bigger. Will probably go for a lwb transit or something similar

Having owned 1 vivaro which is what I've got now..I use to have a variety of vans with my brother in a van hire business...we had 3 transits and they had head problems..but this was on 02 and 52 plate vans..Merc's rotted...renaults cost us lots!!!!..the Japanese vans we had never any issues with..all I can say is my vivaro is a nice size..done 134,000 and been great except for the gearbox..if your put to buy a new van then go for a drive...the new vivaro is out in September...so good deals will be had with the old model...I hunk the new transit is all bonnet and no bum...

How many miles has it got Dave?
140,000 Mate and i have looked after it ,ie services and repairs . probs end-up with another Renault or vivaro , have thought of smaller but thats just not practical ......

Transit every time
Just look at what the utility company's use the most. Also the parts are cheap and residual value is good .

vw transporter , the most reliable vans on market and they hold there price really well. can be expensive but

I've just passed 160k. Still goes like a tank

Been looking for a new van past few weeks.
Renault Trafic sport lwb, £300 a month for 5 years.
Transit custom trend £379 a month for 5 years..
Think I will go for the Trafic..

Transit at the mo, full to the brim as all my vans have been. This is one of my old vans, the little guy cleaning it is my youngest son David, he turned thirty last week, we are going to the christening of his latest little girl Alice tomorrow, It seems like yesterday we christened Evie who is now two and a half. Time flies when your having fun.:yikes:

I remember back in the 20th century when photos used to be sepia and orange!

I had to buy a newer van this year as my vivaro died a death. I went for a transit and love it to bits , sooooooo much quicker so I get to work faster  but the best thing is the storage in the cab so many pockets and drinks holders makes it much tidier

Well the wife will be looking for any special deals this week for me , and not sure how to buy it HP,LOAN, they wouldn't part exch my old one when the clutch is about to go ! so what to do about that as well......this is self-employment for you !! any suggestions ideas would be great ?...

How do you know? Can you tell when you drive the clutch is past its best, if not, keep schtum!!!

They'll only send it through an auction anyway.

Hopefully a multi-trader can pick it up and fix it himself :sofahide:

John ! the van engine make a funny rattling noise mate when you put the clutch peddle -in ........ dont worry mate i would keep quite if i needed lol

Good to see so many people here recommending the Transit van. I had a Transit before the Transporter I have now - the parts for that Transit cost more than the equivalent BMW parts! (e.g. one diesel injector - BMW £250, Ford Transit £400!!) Transits have a very poor record of remaining rust free - I got rid of my 6 year old Transit because the sub frame was rusting so badly. My Transporter is back in the body repair shop after (a customer) reversed into the front (ouch). Hire company gave me a 62 reg Transit. Its like driving a 1970's Ford Capri (I loved my Capri's) - cannot believe how much body roll there is in the corners. The interior is pure Essex. Lots of shiny plastic and loadsa accessories (never seen so many bottle holders in one vans cab). However the van is definitely quicker, and the loading area is bigger. But the Transporter gets more mpg and has a fully galvanised body.
