We are in the final stages of our first self build and are about to start the tiling.
We have a tiler booked to lay the tiles (starts tomorrow) but we are supplying all of the materials. We have wet underfloor heating with a screed laid on top and we are going to use Durabase Matting and then tile on top. We have purchased a flexible adhesive (Toppfix as we got a good price) and now need the right grout for the job.
I've been looking at the Mapei products after looking at this site but need confirmation of what grout to purchase that will work with UFH.
I can't work out what colour I need either as I can't seem to find a colour chart anywhere. The tiles we have bought are ceramic but a travertine lookalike so hopefully that gives an indication of the colour. The tiles will be laid downstairs in the high traffic areas (kitchen/family room, utility, hall and downstairs shower room (wet room)).
Also, how much will I need? Bit of a girly question I guess as I know that it depends on the joint size and as the tiler hasn't started yet I don't know how big that will be other than 'normal' I guess. The tiles are 45 x 30 and the floor area to be tiled is 150 square metres. We are also tiling the walls in the shower room so we need grout for another 30 square metres on top for the walls.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
